A native Marylander, Fr. David Hodil graduated Queen Anne’s County high school in 1983. He then matriculated to Mississippi State University earning a Bachelors in Economics in 1988. After serving as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps in the First Gulf War (1991) he was taken under care of the PCA (Presbyterian Church in America) and attended seminary at Reformed Theological Seminary. He was licensed in 2000 in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC) serving as pulpit fill for numerous churches in Florida. In 2006 he converted to Anglican Catholicism as a lay person under the guidance of then Fr. Chandler Jones (now presiding Bishop of the APA). He moved to the ACA in 2009 and was received into the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter in 2012. In 2017 he was ordained to the Transitional Diaconate. Since then Fr. David has returned to his Anglican roots and was ordained to the Sacred Order of Priests on the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary (August 15, 2023).

His strong suit in ministry is his knowledge of the scriptures thanks to his time spent with the Navigators both in college and the military. He also has a great appreciation for the tradition and mind of the Church given to us as an inheritance from the great men of the Church codified in Her councils and creeds.

He has three most excellent adult children: Jacob, a Marine Corps officer, Sam and chef, and Lisa a linguist and teacher.
