Hello, I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue serving on the Vestry Committee. I’ve been a member of St. Paul‘s for ten years and I value the sense of community, faith and services that our parish provides. I am a member of the Altar Guild, the Prayer Shawl group and the Thursday night Bible Study group. Thank you for considering me.
Gary Rigby
I have been a faithful member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church for 14 years. During that time, I have come to deeply value the worship, fellowship, and shared ministry that make St. Paul’s such a meaningful church home. I have been grateful to serve the parish in a variety of ways, including as treasurer, usher, and lector. Through these ministries, I have developed a deep appreciation for the dedication, care, and faithfulness of the St. Paul’s community.
If re-elected to the vestry, I will seek to continue serving with humility, care, and a listening heart. I hope to support the clergy, encourage the congregation, and help St. Paul’s continue to grow as a welcoming and faithful community. I would be honored to continue offering my time, experience, and prayers in service to the parish I have called home for so many years.
Joan Smith
I was born and raised in Philadelphia. I left to go to college at the University of Maryland. I earned a BS degree Magna Cum Laude and a MA degree Suma Cum Laude. I have been married to my husband, Roland, for 42 years and we have one son. For most of my adult life I have owned and operated an investment firm. That required me to attain various securities licenses which included General Securities Principal and Financial and Operations Principal. I have owned and managed a couple of other businesses during this same time and have worn a few other hats as well, such as teaching finance as an adjunct faculty member for the University of Maryland, a Certified Financial Planner and a securities industry arbitrator. I retired from the securities industry in 2021. Since joining St. Paul’s, I have contributed my time and treasure to this church which I have come to love. I attend Thursday night Bible Study and Ladies Guild meetings. I serve on the Strategic Planning Committee and Scholarship Committee. I have served on the vestry for three years now, two of which as Sr. Warden. In my heart, my mission as a vestry member has not changed. I want to do all I can to make sure that our church not only survives but thrives for future generations. I also share wholeheartedly the vision and the mission of St. Paul’s. With your permission and God’s help, I will humbly continue my vestry service to St. Paul’s.
